Bear Stag Hunter ?

OK, I know these bows were cheaper bows made by bear for big box stores and such.

How long were they made?  I just picked one up right and could overlook the twisted limb which I am currently working on.

I was guessing it to be a 66 but could it be a 76?  the serial # is K601316  

It feels and looks like a grizzly grip instead of the Kodiak if that's any constellation.

 HAHA. No worries. I thought that is what you meant. I am not sure of the exact years they were produced but they were definetly 70's bows. The box store bows seemed to be somewhat of cousins to particular Bear models produced at the same time. They often just had a bit different belly profile than the actual Bears.

The top of the riser, the area around the sight window is wider. I bet it shoots every bit as good though as any bear. That is once the limb is straight.

So then, I would assume it is a 76 based on the serial #?

 I am not sure if the 6 after the K would idicate anything with the year or not. I am not all that familiar with these bows, but I do know that it is a 70's bow.

It really doesnt matter the year. I was just curious.

Chances are this will be a newbie's bow. In fact I have someone in mind who was looking for a cheap bowfishing bow. This one is marked 50/55 # so it is a great weight for penetrating fish.  with the larger riser near the sight window, we would have ample room for inserts or for a strap on adapter.
