The Bow Hut

I was looking at a 1956/1957 catalog from the bow hut yesterday. What a cool place that must have been in the day.
I was struck by some of the target recurves,Apache,tomahawk,white hunter and others.
An comments or PICTURES of some of the bows mentioned?
Any bow hut catalogs available?

I have a few of the older catalogs that I have saved thru the years. The Kittredge Bow Hut is one of them. Another is the Robin Hood Archery Inc. catalog(The Victory edition). Interesting reading for sure. How about a Jack Howard made "Gamemaster Jet" for $145 or a Fred Bear Bowhunter knife kit for $13.00? I'll take a couple of each sir. Ha! Ha!

I have a few of the hunting how to paper backs he put out. Always liked buying from him in the early 70"s. Unfortunatly I'd no longer have the catalogs.

I got my first do-it-yourself arrow makings from the Bow Hut. I still have one of their "wooden nickels". The kit came with a "How to booklet" that I still look at when I forget which way to put nocks on wood arrows. In those days wood arrows came dipped the full lenght of the shaft. Mine were a lite blue.

I have several 1950s to 1970 Kittredge Bow Hut catalogs. During the 1950s we ordered many items from the Bow Hut and fortunately always seemed to save the old catalogs.

The Bow Hut catalogs are a nice complement to the Robin Hood Catalogs to use for identification of vintage tackle. Being on opposite coasts, the two companies each had a line of some regional bows that other catalog did not have in stock.

The oldest dated Robin Hood Catalog that I have is 1939, and have 6 from the 1940s. The 1940s catalogs are surprisingly small when compared to the 1950s to 1970s catalogs.
