I was taking pictures of a 62 Kodiak for a friend today and was thinking 1962 has to be my favorite year for Bears. I thought I would gather all I have for a group photo shoot.

Nice family photo Jack.Looks like you hang with an elite group.I have been shooting my '62 Kodiak exclusively this year myself.I want to get as comfortable with one bow as possible if I get a chance to go out hunting. Can't think of a finer bow to get comfortablw with than a '62 Kodiak.Unfortunately it's an only child.

I have a soft spot for those 62 Kodiaks myself.  The only bow I owned from 1964 to 1982 was a 62 Kodiak.  Have a few now, but only one of them is in really good shape, but it certainly shoots great and brings a smile to my face every time I have it in my hand.

I was watching my Uncle practice in the yard in 62', he is what got me started in 67'. Great collection Jack!

In 1962 I was ten years old and shooting a hand-me-down bow of some type but I can't remember the make now. A Bear bow was only in my dreams at that time and it would be many more years before I actually owned one.

In 1962, I was still just a glint of light in my Daddy's eyes!!!!!!!!!!

Beautiful line up Jack!!
I was 12 years old and just moved from Arizona to California. Absolutely hated it at the time but learned to adjust.

In 1962, I was starting to gather up all of those outdated bows... like 1959 & 1960 Kodiaks....

Jack, like you I was ten for most of that year turning eleven in December.

I have a 62 Kodiak Special that I got from some crazy Bear collector somewhere who went out of his way to find me one because he knew I wanted one. That is one very fine gentleman.

Right now it is with an outfitter friend, who did not have a recurve, on the condition that I will be able to use it to hunt with in 2012, its fiftieth year. After that it will be his, since I kinda traded it to him for an elk hunt.

I set out a while ago to reduce my herd of 40 bows...And I am finally down to 42
