The "no coin" 59's were made very early on in the year.

Very rare....rosewood sight window AND no coin!  Great to find a really early bow that doesn't reflect the ravages of time.

Great bow Alex.......I knew you'd love it!  I have some of Trap's feather rests.  I bring one for you the next time I see you.

BTW - This is FUN isn't it!

It also appears that the "lighter" parts of the tip overlays are maple, rather than the white paper micarta of the later ones.

This bow is sweet!  She's wearing a new string and will soon be sporting a new feather rest.

Shoots very nice!!

Very rare indeed. The coinless bows were only made for a couple of months from what I understand. And RSWD sight window makes it even more rare.

Alex, It was nice meeting and shooting with you at Denton.

That is indeed one fine bow you found.

Hey Alex,
I have a 59 with no coin also, serial #BA 100.  What is the # of your bow?  Dave

Barry Rowland

Gang, I'm amazed at the number of '50s Kodiaks out there!  I learn something new every day about them!  The thing that amazes me even more than the survivablity factor is that they are still shootable and shoot like champs!  How do you find them?
Barry

Windsurfer- The serial number on this one is DA093
I would love to see pics of your bow.
