I would start at 7.5" and work up.  I have mine around 8.25".

Great bow!

The catalog lists the recommended height as 6.5-7.5" I think.  With a dacron string that's a little loud (but it's wonderful with a skinny TS1 string  :D ) and most guys are going a little higher.  ymmv

The '59 Grizzly is in the running for my favorite Bear of all time!

you can't use fastflight on this bow correct?

no 1960 Grizzly you may get away with FF for a bit because the tip overlays in 1960 were made of fiberglass rather then paper. But again I would just stay with a flemish string or endless loop....better for your bow in the long run trust me.Eather one will work great on that Grizz.Dang it I just sold a 46# 59 Grizzly I completely restored plus I added fiberglass tip overlays to it.Nothing special but I will say this about those 59-60 grizzlys they are not rockets as far as speed goes. But they will stack arrows on top on eack other at 20 yards all day long great shooters and and and I should mention one of the quietest bows ever built period bd
