A friend has a recurve and on the limb you can make out something like "American Archer  and  X48.   Can anyone tell me any info on this bow.  It has a flat shelf and looks like some of the old ben person and shakespeares I have seen.  It is nothing special.   It looks like it has two small holes in the front of the riser where it had a sight system.    It is a one piece recurve.    Thanks,   jim

X 48 would be the poundage. Usually the X was put with the poundage if it is slightly off from what is written on the bow.

I,ve got one of those...never really knew any info on it though...let me know what you find out.The one i have is good for my 8 yr. old since he has a short draw...the bow stacks badly at my 28" draw. It shoots very smooth and is fairly quick.     Tim

I believe that is an American archery bow that was called X48. That was the length of the bow. It was to compete with the short Bear mag.

X 48 was a nice little bow for a short drawer!  all them old americans shoot!  i wish i could find another one with some poundage!

Endless loop strings, heavy bows, and wood and only wood arrows...my kind of archery!

yep...x48 was the length of bow...my nephew shoots one and it really spits an arrow at 45 lbs.
