68 Grizzly - What are they worth????

I'm going to look at a 68 that appears to be in very good condition.  What are these bows worth?  Under $100????

Is it easy to get this bow restrung?  Current owner said he had it restrung 3 years ago.  Anything in particular I should look our for?

I know literally nothing about bows, and even less about this particular model.  I'd like to learn how to shoot and thought this might be a good candidate.

It's a 56" at 44#.  Serial # 8R3495

Jon those 1968 Grizzly's are great shooters and a pretty snappy looker as well.If you could get the bow for 100 thats a good price if its fairly clean and solid.bowdoc

It's not surprising that I agree with the doc.

If the bow is original without holes, has straight limbs, and is free of scratches or unsightly marks, then the price is fair...maybe even a bit low these days.  

I bet more of these sell in the $100-150 range, so you will not turn it over for a big profit.

And get another job. You'll need a glove or a tab and an armguard. Arrows and then a quiver. Lots of arrows btw and the right ones for the bow. Then you need another bow to shoot on the odd days.

Finally figured out the pictures.

Notice the stress marks on the 2nd picture.  Is that a big deal?

Most folks say that vertical stess is really no big deal with these old Bears, but some say beware of horizontal stress. Could that be the result of a "quiver"?

I am just about 100% certain that those lines are in the finish only and constitutes no danger what so ever to the integrity of the bow.

Please, someone correct me if I'm wrong.

Well, I hope they don't affect the integrity of the bow because I bought it!!!  The man that sold it to me is 76 and was the orginal owner.  Along with the items in the picture he included a Bear bow quiver (belt to leg arrangement) of the same vintage, a stringer and a set of broad head arrows in their original package (Montgomery Wards.)  I'll take a few more pictures, maybe you guys could tell me if they're worth anything.

The bow is in very nice shape.  It's quite amazing since it's been over 40 years since it was new.

I'm looking forward to learning more about this bow and getting the right arrows for it.

The Grizzly is a fine bow and my first real hunting bow was a Grizzly exactly like yours.  I bought it new in either 1967 and 1968.  I killed my first deer with it in 1969.
