Tom I.

Check it out.... 250362770067 ..... Not mine and I have nothing to do with it's sale....just a heads up for a nice bow that has a reasonable (I think) Buy It Now price. If it were left handed, it wouldn't be listed any longer....

Shaun

Yes, I admired that one too. Nice bow.

Jeremy

Nice bow.  That seller also has an early no-coin '59 Grizzly with a very attractive BIN price.

Thanks Jeremy.  I got another picture of it from the seller and the stress lines in the lower limb are pretty long.  $200 is probably too much for a '60 Grizzly.

If you want it and don't mind working, that's still a shooter

Sorry, I didn't mean to hijack the thread and think we got the Kodiak Deluxe and the Grizzly from the same seller mixed up.  I think Jeremy's answer is that the Kodiak is a '60.  The Grizzly serial number is HF397.

Kurt, I had it in mind to make my first collectible a Kodiak, but you guys got me to thinking about this 59 birthday hunt and the Grizzly might fit the bill for that assuming the stress lines are just that and there is no impact on the limbs themselves.

I believe that Kodiak is a Kodiak Special Deluxe rather then Deluxe auc.number listed above is for a 66" not 60" KSD.The 1958-1959 no coin Grizzly's are transition bows.1959 looking but no coin no coin hole..I have one of the same handing in my shop.bd

Roy, that bow looks like maybe it's been refinished to me.  That's some dark Rosewood.

Not saying that's a bad thing.  Just an opinion and observation.

Watch out! The seller is known to suffer from 'angry little man' complex!

I'm on board with Bjorn, beware.
I was born with nothing and I still have most of it left.

I will never do business again with «lure». He lied about the condition of a bow I baught - Simon

Guys I bought that 59 Special 280308103814, and it hasn't been refinished. She's in pretty darn good shape. Straight, very minimal stress, tips are good, no major dings or scratches, and the finish is very good. I wish it was a shorter bow, but its a very nice 59, my first.
The Bear 59 catalog shows the Specials with only a feather rest rest and no leather plate? And who do you recommend for a string?

Cool Scott, glad it turned out original and nice.  They are definately some of Bear's pretiest and shoot great also.

Can't go wrong with Jim's strings.
