One is a 48" recurve that looks like an old Bear Super Mag, grey glass limbs, white glass tip and riser overlays. Riser seems to be bocote. Here are the only writings on the bow: 10722-208, xx45#- 28". On the bottom limb is the word "Signal" and under that is the number 7803 with a star under that. Any help with ID would be appreciated.
The other is a Ben Pearson Hunter 709. It is 58", serial # 09-11976, 50xx - 28".
Any info would be greatly appreciated on these bows. I would also like to know the best way to get old camo tape off the limbs.

Bill, both of your bows are Ben Pearsons. If you go to this web site you can get more information on them.  http://archeryarchives.com/

Peel the tape off the bow and buy some "Goo-Gone" (you can get it at Target) it takes all kinds of tape residue off without hurting the finish. Use a rag not steel wool.

Thanks Ike for the information!  Do you happen to know what the approximate brace height should be for each of these bows??

Evening Bill,
No I don't know the brace height, but I would guess it's between 6 1/2 and 7 1/2. Start at 6 1/2 and see how they shoot. If they seem noisey increase the brace by a half an inch. Keep doing this until they quite down. Usually when braced correctly the string barely touches the limb at the point where the limb starts to turn down.
Good luck

7" - 8 1/4" brace for the 58" BP Hunter and drop down about 1/4" for every two inches of bow length to figure out shorter bows.
This is for recurves...

Thanks Woodduck!  I currently have the brace set at 8 1/4".  I have found that the 58" BP is a really nice shooter.  I am very pleasantly surprised.
I haven't done anything with the little 48" Pearson yet, because it has a very slight limb twist that I am working out of it a little at a time.  The Zebra wood in both bow risers is really pretty.

Thanks again
