Hello! So I am new to this, and I read through the information on the site and am a bit confused on a couple of things, but the main one is whether I need a LH or RH bow. I am right handed, which would make you believe I need a rh bow, but I was legally blind in my left eye as a child, so they made me wear a patch. Now I am extremely left eye dominant. If I understand what I've read correctly, I should be shooting left handed then, is that correct? Thanks in advance!

I'm not sure I understand, apparently your left eye recovered and now is the strong one?  If so, and IF you are just starting out I'd suggest starting left handed.  Archery is not a dexterity sport and shooting on the dominant eye side is preferred if there is a choice.

Are you willing to give up what you are; to become what you could be?

Yes, that is correct. My left eye is recovered, I have great vision now, but it is definitely the strong eye. So then, I should try and shoot left handed. (That's going to feel awkward at first)

Shooting left handed is not the same as a right-handed person writing or throwing a ball left handed. It's just a matter of which hand holds the bow and which hand pulls the string.  The important thing is to have your dominant eye over the arrow.  While people have learned to shoot with their non-dominant eye over the arrow, it's like driving from Sacramento to Reno via Fresno.  I mean, you could do it, but what would be the point?

Technology....the knack of arranging the world so that we don't have to experience it.

Like you I am right handed and left eye dominate. However I shoot right handed...I simply close my left eye. May not be the "proper way" but that is what feels natural and comfortable for me.

Thanks for all the info. I picked up a left handed Bow from Doug (Lefty4) so I will be teaching myself to shoot left handed. I'm really excited to start shooting as I have always been a fan of archery, but my only experience has been at the renaissance faire out here haha.
