Who tucks a finger on the bow hand??

Been experimenting with tucking my little finge under on my bow hand. Anyone else do this??

I did that for a while, to make sure that my hand angled away from the bow.  It works, but I finally decided that I was as likely to get torque from my finger tucked in as I was from anything else, so I stopped doing it, and now just rest my last three fingers against the back of the bow handle.

I don't think there is anything wrong with it, if it works for you.

I tuck my bottom 2 fingers.

I tuck my little finger and ring finger.  Helps rotate my hand out about 45° and is pretty comfortable to me.  Been using this method for about nine months.  Helps to keep from torquing the bow too.

I can't imagine a more uncomfortable, unstable way to grip a bow, but that's just me.

I was just watching some olympic recurve shooting and they curl 3 of their fingers under as shown in the photo.

I tuck my little and ring finger. Found that I try to "grasp" the bow with those fingers on release. Tucking seems to help me relax my bow hand better.

I leave my fingers relaxed.  Index and pinky relaxed and the middle and ring supporting the bow . . . barely.

Buddy of mine is a die hard finger tucker   :rolleyes:  I tried it and banged my pinky knuckle and popped the bow out of my hand

I tuck my three lower fingers and place them against the side of the grip, my index finger and thumb tips touch. Sort of like "choking a chicken"
It works for me! It makes my push straight forward on the grip and no torque. Do what feels right.

No...I fully grip my longbow handles with my thumb and "3 fingers".  I would do this with a recurve grip but my bow hand (L) index finger was cut-off as an infant, it is now smaller and I am not able to grip with it .

The reason for shooting with tucked bottom fingers is so the crotch of your hand acts as a single axis point through which you bow can pivot freely.  Kind of like your horizontal arrow rest being crowned, so your arrow only contacts it at a single point.  Or...what Kevin said above!

Well it depends...some of my bows I tuck two...some I use a full grip...the two bows that feel the best to me full grip were custom fitted; for someone else
