Hello all,
Can anyone p,ease recommend a DVD or a class or an instructor to me. I live in Yosemite ca.  I built a hill style longbow last year with the man that use to run bighorn longbows. Awesome bow. Super fun. I try to shoot 4 times a week at least but as a self taught guy things are slow going. I have an out of state tag for montana this year and really want to be confident in my hunting ****s when its time.  Thanks alot folks. Any recommendations will be appreciated.

Sorry about the ****s.  that was a typo. I'm using an iPad and autofill constantly swindles me.

Killdeer

I am learning to hate autofill. It costs me more time than it saves. I still don't know what your mystery word is.

Long, long afterward, in an oak I found the arrow, still unbroke;
And the song, from beginning to end, I found again in the heart of a friend.

I have no idea where that came from. I'm just looking for any recommendations re DVDs to watch from home or an instructor close by to attend.  Any and all recommendations would be greatly appreciated.

I recommend the DVD series "Masters of the Barebow". Watch them all. Plus look through old threads on these forums. Several good instructors post regularly in the form section and many have videos on youtube.

jolson- How are you shooting the bow, more static, methodical or swing draw?  I find that "Hitting them like Howard Hill" is a great DVD.  One usually just watches it once and try, but if you atucally watch it few times and break it down, almost will always catch something new.  I went to Mr. Bob Wesly shooting school, becaue I was shooting okay, but wanted to make sure I wasn't doing something wrong to hurt myself.  I was well worth it.  I sent u a pm.

I will have to second both of these recommendations, "Hitting' Em Like Howard Hill" By John Schulz is a great DVD and Bob Wesley was friends with Howard Hill and John Schultz.  Be warned though, if you haven't shot swing draw before start out with a lighter bow, it can wreck you shoulders.
