Hi,

recently im hitting my arm guard very often while shooting. Not very hard, the arrows still fly OK and i mostly shoot where im looking but it drives me crazy! I really dont know why.

Its the same bow, arrow, arm guard...

Ive tried to hold the bow different but then either my shooting goes down the drain or im still touching the arm guard.

Any help truly apreciated!

Thanks, Axel

Try rolling the elbow of your Bow hand outward a bit . You'll notice your shoulder will turn a bit as well.

I was having the same problem for some reason. It still feels a little weird but is beginning to feel better so keep at it.

I haven't worn an arm guard in 15 or so years. I don't advice it, but rolling the elbow outwards works for me.

Dang...that could be the solution. I did that but now i think i didnt do it recently. Will try, thanks.

Good point fatzboys. Check for string stretch as well saumensch..

i don't wear an arm guard as i see the slap as punishment for bad form   :D

i had to do a combo of 3 things to get rid of it for me. i opened and changed my stance, changed my grip of the bow and twisted the string up a bit for a little more brace height

I know that I draw with a straight elbow so as I come to full draw I bend my elbow just enough to get it out of the way

You might also try opening up your stance a bit. That can help as well.
