Jabo, glad to hear your experience was positive at Rick's school. Come to think about it, most everyone that has attended Rick's school or Ron's school or some other school has had a positive impact on their shooting. They come back enthusiastic as they should. They got their money's worth and the person giving the school got a fair price for their instruction. What more would you want? Lots of ways to skin the cat once fundamentals are mastered. For me, I admire anyone that can chose to and be successful in making a living in traditional archery. It's all good! Jabo you will find if you haven't already that your will have to practice, practice and remind yourself what you learned in Arkansas with Mr. Welch. But it will stick and your shooting will be the better for it.  Congrats, and best success in the future.

Bruce--
Thank you for the support and advice. I agree with you totally that I must practice, practice, practice and try to remember everything I have learned. I have been shooting everyday since I've returned, and I noticed the first two days I did not shoot as well as what I did in Arkansas. However, yesterday and today I really tried to focus on what I learned, and even rewatched my video which seemed to help me shoot better. Rick did tell me I will have good days and bad days throughout the new learning process, however, the bad days will get less as I continue to grow as an archer. I'm dedicated to being the best archer I can, and putting what I learned to use in the woods. I'm actually heading to Canada in a few weeks for a Bear hunt, and I feel confident that all I'm taking is my recurve--->I'm excited as can be for sure and hope I can share some pics of my trip with you guys when I get back. Best of luck to you and take care. Jason Turley "Jabo"

Jason, we'll look forward to a story or two when you return from Canada. You'll do just fine. Just remember........"Aim small.....Miss small"

Oh, and if you can take some pictures....that would be just the icing on the cake.

What if you woke up tomorrow, with only what you thanked God for today ???

Hey Don, This is the second good quote you have taught me now:) I'm looking forward to going and it won't matter to me as much if I kill something or not. My uncle who taught me how to hunt at the age of 8, as well as my cousin is going with me. We will enjoy ourselves and make some good memories that I will remember hopefully forever! The cool thing about my uncle going, is I actually talked him into using a bow on the hunt, and I decided to give him My compound to take. He has always been a big gun hunter, so it will be cool if he can get one with his new bow I'm giving him:) I will definitely take a bunch of pics to share with you guys!!

Jason,

You are wise beyond your years. It is indeed the "memories" that will live within us forever-more. The physical things will someday cease to exist........but the memories will live on.

Enjoy yourself and most of all, while your sitting out there in the bush......just look around and really consider how small we all are in the grand scheme of things. That is the true spirit of hunting.......the killing is my least favorite part.
