Just curious on how many guys are totally subconscience or what??   BILL

BF, that's the kind of question that can screw you up for months.....  :banghead:

If I conciously think of anything other than the "spot", I'm sunk....

I usually miss if I start thinking.  :biglaugh:   Honestly, some of my best shots I don't fully remember taking. Kinda hazy bits and pieces.

I try not to let my mind wander...It is too small and fragile to be out by itself.

Don't think, just concentrate on the spot.

Once the little green light in my head comes on, all I think about is concentrating on the spot.

Daw i dont know!   :knothead:

Really im just consentrating as hard as i can on the spot.

I do know that if i consciously think about what im doing during the shot, every thing goes to hell.

The only time i consciously think about the shot is when im working on a particular part of form, such as anchor, shoulder alinement, elbow hight ect. ect., i am not concerned with shot placment at this time.

I think of the animal as if it's hunting me and I'm daring it to give me a shot.As bayou said, kill it!

When we are on the 3D range alot can go through our minds before and during a shot. Guess it has to do with tuning out distractions around us. What sometimes works for me is to imagine my arrows path before I shoot or "see" a little red led light where I want my arrow to go.

Hunting is another story. Might be no time for a ritual of sorts. Just pick a spot and follow through! Let the grey matter take over. I still have to put a deer on the ground myself. Had plenty of "almosts". But almost only counts in horse-shoes and hand grenades!

General form thoughts before release, deep hook, bow against thumb crease, strong bow arm, pick-a-spot, follow through. Other than that, I try not to think.

AND, if I can not concentrate, I quit shooting, right then and there.

Like others if I try to think about anything other than the spot I want the arrow to go on a live animal it will be a miss. This spring I missed a turkey at 9 steps because I was thinking about my bow limbs hitting the top of my blind and not concentrating on my spot.

WHile you are concentrating on the spot do you "feel" your anchor or not? I am NOT talking about snap shooting or no consistant anchor I am really slow and methodical with my shooting. Check out this link of me.
