Watched several times. How is your accuracy currently, & are you happy with your current performance?

jacobsladder

feel pretty good at 15 yds... need to improve at 20 ..... groups widen beyond 15.

Hey Steve, I sure appreciate all your work at the bunny hunt. For yrs. I anchored with index finger at corner of mouth, then switched to middle finger to corner of mouth and my shooting improved. Your anchor is quite low IMHO. Arrow down by your chin. Always easier for me to take 3-4 days off, then making the switch seems more natural. Good Luck, Tom.

I think your form and alignment looks pretty spot on.  Nice release and follow through....bow arm pretty stable.  The only think I 'think' I see is a very slight forward creep.

How long have you been shooting?

Tom...im trying to build a consistant anchor by locking my thumb nuckle behind my jaw bone and pulling thru..I will surely try middle finger to corner of mouth.. i still think i would be able to lock my thumb nuckle behind jaw bone.......

Terry...this is my 3rd year with the stickbow.... but really my first year trying to build a consistant form...Whats bothering me is im very streaky.....i could shoot 6 arrows and be spot on...then scatter 6 more until i find my groove again... I almost think it may be more about focus , and concentration, than form... I also noticed the creeping..

By the way, I recieved a couple more sets of hush puppies from ya for other bows... great product and recieved them quickly.. I quartered up 1 set for this treadway black swamp ..can you hear her whisper?   :)

Steven....have you thought about stepping away from the groups for a couple of months and just shooting one arrow at a time at random targets like leaves, pine cones, mushrooms etc?

I think that might help your confidence.

Terry... I do think that would be helpful...I'll be shooting alot of 3d here soon too(finally some decent weather).. I find it much easier to shoot at a kill zone than at a spot target .... and definitely more fun!

Terry....ive found by holding the bow a tad more vertical ive been shooting "much" better...not sure if im getting better alignment, but my left and right problems have disappeared!

Steven I watched your vid a few times and everything looks good.  The only thing I would suggest is to take an extra second to bury that anchor point and let your eyes really lock onto your spot. The one thing I find when I get streaky is that I'm not getting out from behind the bow.  In other words I'm starting to check my form, not trusting it.  This takes some of the concentration off my spot(aiming).  Pound the bag and trust that you have good form then you can put all your effort into aiming. Not sure if that helps, just a suggestion.   Good Shootin Joe

I have the same problem. Shoot good out to 15 yards. Why does it all fall apart with 5 more yards?

Forget 20 yards...back up an practice for 3 weeks at 25....then 20 yards will be much tighter.

Terry...i believe you just hit the nail on the head.... i've started practicing from farther back...my groups are tightening and its making the closer shots easy.

I do that with my compound, so I guess it would work the same. I'll give it a shot.
I Might need more arrows or a bigger target! lol

This is a great thread because I have the same problems and I think I may have found some ideas here that will help. I tried some of the Rick Welch concepts I have read about on here (mainly shooting 3 under)but it felt to weird. Once again I'm glad I checked out this forum.

Basinboy

I have switched to three under also. Practice and more practice!
