Thinking of having a bow built with snake skins. Maybe a BW copperhead over Osage (bit of a Missouri theme). I've never owned a snake skin backed bow. I would love to see pictures and hear thoughts/suggestion.

Steelhead

Copperheads would go great with an Osage Widow no doubt.Perfect really!

Wheels2

Someone makes limb wraps in snake skin design.
Cheaper, easier.
Super Curves.....
Covert Hunter Hex9h
Morrison Max 6 ILF
Mountain Muffler strings to keep them quiet
Shoot as much weight as you can with accuracy

Hopefully this works - hope the new website allows us to post directly. PSA with diamondback skins

This is a set I put on a Predator - do not have these limbs any more, they were too heavy for me in my old age - ha! Went to Australia

One set Eastern and other set Western Diamondbacks. Predator over black glass and PSA over graybark. I like your copperhead idea, always wanted a set but have not had the opportunity.
I know lots of guys dislike them but I rather enjoy them (I am scared to death of snakes, maybe that's it)
When I was a kid I used to watch shows with Paul Brunner, he always seemed to have snakeskins, I thought he was the coolest cat in the forest.

Have  my  older grizzly  covered  with eastern diamondback, set it down  in the ferns  one year turned around after fixing  stand to tree to get pack and really jumped when I reached for my pack, scared myself silly.
Now we're digging where the taters are.

I have always questioned the durability of snake skins on  bow limbs. Morrison does a great job with snake skins on his limbs. I would contact him with questions before I committed.    :campfire:

Copperhead will show well over Osage, I think the best wood for showing color in a Copperhead is probably Yew.
I have a couple of huge Boone & Crockett Copperhead skins that I have been hanging onto for a long time waiting for the right bow to use them on.
Lefties are the only ones who hold the bow in the right hand.

Thanks guys, like mentioned, I too am very uneasy around snakes but I think they look cool on a bow. I am curious about durability as well, I take very good care of my things, but that being said I use and hunt with my bows as I think all good bows were intended, but I don't want to baby anything. Thanks for the "Morrison" contact, pictures and suggestions.

Steelhead

If thier done right and you got good skins I don't believe you will have any issues with durability from normal hunting bumps and scrapes. They will put a finish on the skins after their applied.I never had problems with my skinned bows by Morrison,Widow and Whippenstick

I skinned a longbow years ago and hunted with it for a few years before selling it off. TBIII to stick it on with a Tru-Oil finish over the skins. Looked great and held up well. Can't figure out how to get my high-jacked pics to repost off PB or I'd show ya. Diamondback over Yew under clear glass. Copperhead over any lighter wood would be really sharp.

Don't use fake skins, they look just like that, Fake.

Sorry about the over size pic.

This is a great northern osage long bow with copperhead skins.  Love the light color.

I had Toby @Black Widow put Eastern Diamondback Skins on my 1987 HS60 when he reduced weight & refinished. Blonde Maple Limbs. Looks great and I have no worries on durability... The Black Widow Folks are solid...  :campfire:
