I'm curious on the status of the Michigan Traditional Bowhunters. I received a letter last fall stating that the club would dissolve by Jan 1st if new officers were not in place. Any more information?

Not sure, but they had no problem taking my membership money then sending the letter 2 or 3 weeks later.

No problems with MTB. I spoke with the past president this afternoon and they are having their next  meeting at his house in two weeks. Several members who are interested in getting on the counsel are showing up. I thought the letter was out of line myself. It did nothing but cause speculation like this. The editor didn't have material for a magazine so he wrote the letter you got instead.

Jon, how about the meeting date and time in case someone wants to go.

I am the president of MTB and I'm taking full responsibility for the letter being sent out. One reason it was sent was we had no stories for a magazine at the time and we wanted to let the membership know why they would not be getting a magazine. We also wanted to let the membership know what could possibly happen if we didn't get anyone to step up and help run the organization. I've been on the board for 25 years and yes I'm burned out, I Also can't shoot my bows any more due to bad shoulders. Because of this letter we have had a few people who are willing to step up and help and we have also had some members send us some stories for the magazine. We also didn't make as much money at our jamboree last summer which gives us enough money to make it until the following year, so we will not be having our banquet this year and we will probably be going to 2 magazines a year and a newsletter. We will be discussing all this at our meeting today n January 13. I want people to know our editor didn't do this on his own and it was discussed with the board. Gary puts out a great magazine and does a great job . I will let everyone know what is discussed at the meeting. If anyone has questions or concerns you can e-mail me at dgardner1969@yahoo. com I hope this answers some of your questions and concerns. Dick Gardner MTB President

We had our meeting last Saturday and it went very well. We had 3 new people's le step up and join the board and one of them wanted the presidents positions so I resigned my position as president. Mtb's new president is Louis Lucido and he is already moving the club forward. We also have a new editor. One of the decisions made was MTB will be having their banquet and summer jamboree. If you would like me re info and dates check out Michigan traditional bowhunters Facebook page. In closing I want to wish the new board all of  the best in the years to come.

Thanks for the update, glad the Jamboree is on.
