Glad to see someone else using a string. Even if it breaks it gives you a good start on the trail.

I'm beginning to think they run farther with them, but they certainly do give you a good start.

You might be right. I'm sure glad I was using one this year. Arrow came out through the sternum and almost no blood trail. Lost the string after about 80 yards and the buck went another 300! That string helped get me started through the brushiest first part of the trail.

Congrtulations, It looks like a couger got and lost him before you. Is that what it looked like when you skinned him out?

Yes, my friend Micah skinned his back a week earlier.

Very nice buck!!!

Not trying to make "myself relevant" here, but these deer, and where they inhabit, can make for some of   the most frustrating & difficult hunting I've ever done. I consider ANY Blacktail deer a real accomplishment, be it a Doe or a Buck.
Congratulations! Nice Job!!

P.S. That was from a treestand, right? That's something I gotta try, I guess.....

Thanks and yes, I hunt from a stand.

I live inTroutdale, so were practically neighbors. I killed that buck near Sandy on Weyerhauser land.
