X Stand Climbers

Being taller will make it more difficult for you. Thats the problem I had. Climbing up trees wore me out, going down wasn't as bad bit climbing with my X Climber just plumb wore me out and I am almost 6' tall.

It came today and I tinkered around with it in the backyard. It's light, and climbing wasn't too bad from what little I did (about 8 feet). All the reviews I've read said the instructions are horrible and the backpack straps suck...which I found to be true. If you're familiar with climbers it's not hard to figure out how to set it up and climb, but the instructions for packing it up and packing are garbage. And the straps are really uncomfortable, for me at least. But overall for the price I'm happy, I'll rig up some more straps.

Do yourself a favor and get set of MOLLE straps, (shoulder straps and lumbar belt) you wont regret it they make all the difference in the world

I think this is exactly what I'm gonna do. It's light, but these little thin straps that came with it really dig into my shoulders.

Till you get the pack straps and belt, I think I found it more comfortable to carry just over one shoulder at my side opposite my bow. But I may be thinking about my LW before I bought the pack straps and belt

I hunted out of it for the first time yesterday evening. It climbs well on pine trees, and it is definitely light. Not as comfortable as some others I've used but it's not bad at all. I ordered some new Molle straps on **** and they should be here this week. I think after I get the straps swapped out it's gonna be just about perfect for what I wanted.

There's a guy that has a good YouTube video on packing and climbing a tree with it, think it's pretty easy to find

I think it will be fine, but I'll find out for sure soon. I don't have any good trees here at the house, so the first tree I climbed when I got it was a hackberry in the back yard, which is a really slick barked tree that you should never climb lol. I didn't get very high and was very careful but it did ok on it. So I'm sure it'll be fine on oak trees.
