Hello all,
I wanted to share with you guys and gals that I was finally successful with harvesting my first whitetail with my own built longbow. I started this craft in 2012 and have progress each year with my building skills. I have taken several spring turkeys with a longbow but the whitetail deer has been my downfall. Tuesday night I finally got my opportunity and put a perfect 12 yard shot on this young buck. Double lung shot and he only went 30 yards. I was two miles back in the woods alone so my picture are of poor quality but I am beyond proud and humbled.
That night I became a true tradhunter!

Thank you for allowing me to share my success here with all you folks!

Respectfully,
Justin

Congrats, that is a nice looking bow. What is the riser and lamination material? I know the feeling of getting a animal with a bow that you have designed and built yourself , I've been hunting with a homemade long bow since 2004.

Now that's awesome!  ...and an accomplishment that very few people can actually say.

Nashoba,
The riser is G10 phenolic material, core is natural boo and black glass on both back and belly. I wanted as simple yet elegant black bow and was extremely happy with this one.

That is definitely cause for celebration. Congrats!    :clapper:
Do not follow where the path may lead.  Go, instead, where there is no path and leave a trail.
