Good shooting and thanks for sharing video.
The essence of the hunt for me is to enter nature and observe+ return safely occasionally with the gift of a life taken.

Texas heart shot????

What setup were you shooting to get an arrow lengthwise through that big guy?

My friend was shooting 55lbs when a boar turned on him to wheel away and he had an inadvertent texas heart shot. The arrow totally disappeared into the boar. I'm curious on this setup too.

excellent! You didn't screw up anything either, that's more like how things usually go afield. Main thing is you kept composure and got it done. Didn't hurt that the boar decided not to run off after the first shot too.  :)

Glad you liked the video  :)
Setup is 56#@29" 500 grain skinny vap including 200 grain vpa twoblade.
The setup is regardless of the lightweight arrow a really good combo for penetration... skinny arrows and good FOC are the way to go for good penetration imo
Shot a couple of pigs in the pocket where the arrow just kept on going on the other side..

Basinboy

Way to thread the needle on that last shot! Congrats

Thanks BB ... yes that was a real needlethreader  :)  Nice when it comes together like that.
Shot a running pig at 25yards also on that trip, one of my best huntingshots  :)  unfortunately we only started the cams after the shot, aint that typical  :)

Cool video.  Great shooting.  Love those 200gr VPAs.

Nala

Me too....

I have had a dream for a LONG TIME of going to Australia and hunting hogs.  I would love seeing the country, meeting the people and hunting hogs.

It would be awesome to get together and a few of us go.  Getting an outfitter to do it is simply out of my budget.  It's BIG MONEY to go there and hunt thru an outfitter, but that's true if any guided hunt.

I admit it's a PIPE DREAM for me to ever do it, but I could get lucky one day.

Thanks for posting.

Love the F- Bombs, you show a lot of class, facing away shots too wow, my hero.

Thanks guys
Nala, just get that ship rocking my freind, you only live once  :)
Longrifle, not sure if you are sarkastic or not, but I will say though that a "Texas heart shot" is one of the best and fastest killshots there is... I once killed a huge BC moose like that.. died as Quick as with a lung shot.. frontal shots on the other hand is a much smaller margin.
:)

Glad it worked out for you but the Texas Heart Shot is not a high percentage shot and if you keep doing it sooner or later you will have a disaster. Very easy to hit the ham and then you most likely will never recover the animal.

Denmark I'm being truthful in my response, I know first hand not all shots end up where we would like but, to take that shot on purpose shows little respect for the animal or the image of bowhunting we all try so hard to uphold. To me and I may be way out of line your video does very little to promote good bowhunting ethics, maybe it don't matter in Denmark or Australia but here in the U.S. it does.

Ha ha.. hams are good .. there is a reason many oldtimers shot caribou in the hams on purpose. Hams for some reason is not that good with a rifle.. but with a bow its almost as High percentage shot as a lungshot.
I have turned down way more shots then I have taken on game... but sometimes there is a place and a situation for a shot like that
Stay safe

Ohh by the way.. there are way more bad stuff you can hit on a broadside shot.. like shoulderblade and stomack... on a Texas hearftshot you have a killshot or a superficial fleshwound..
peace out and have a good one, J
