Are there any cases out there of better overall build quality than one of these for traveling with a one piece bow and arrows?

This would be for driving only, likely lashed to the roof rack of the SUV.  I could toss my bow quiver, binos, knife, calls, etc in another small bag in the back but for the one piece bow this looks pretty handy and it could be lashed up top and get the bow out of the headspace of those in the back seat.

The Far North stuff is great gear.  If you want something really tough there's also Black Widow's 1pc travel hard case, which I own.  It is adjustable for length and pretty heavy duty.

Or build one yourself out of PVC, spray paint it any color you like.
I've got one out of PVC and while it's bomb proof and darn near water tight, its also a pain to get into and out of.  In the winter time the little threaded end cap likes to get water in the top few threads when its daylight then freeze over at night so when I travel in rain I get my tube frozen shut.  I think it's probably the best for shipping or airline travel.  However, for quick weekend trips with 3-5 hour drives I'd like something with a little easier access.  I'd just lash it up top unless the weather was poor then toss it on top of the other luggage in the back and let the dog deal with a pole in its way.

The Black Widow case looks nice as well.  Is the interior padded or is it simply a hard solid tube like a lot of the fly rod cases?

Those are nice cases but for local hunting the PVC is tough to beat. Especially when considering the price and that you can customize it however you want. Hell you can just leave it attached to the roof rack all season.

Back when I hunted with one piece recurves I had an aluminum case made by Impact Case & Container that held two BW PAX's. I've since gone to all takedown and pack them in with luggage. A PVC tube will hold a longbow, but round objects like PVC are frequently damaged by baggage conveyors, however lashed to a roof rack they would be great. I made several trips to Canada with a longbow in PVC without damage or incident, however your mileage may vary.
Lefties are the only ones who hold the bow in the right hand.

'Polk the BW Case is not padded inside, only on the ends.  Inside it is just smooth plastic.  I usually put my bows inside a sock, then in the case.

When I was shooting one piece bows, I just made one out of pvc.

The fishing rod tubes mentioned above work well for me. I have also made tubes out of PVC. With that said I really like the Far North cases. Great quality, and if I was going to be flying a lot, that is what I would buy.   :campfire:

I made myself a PVC case and used some Backpack clasps.  It is easy to get in and out of and works well for protecting the bows when throwing them in the Rig.

Nothing too fancy but it might work for you.
