Does anyone use hot melt to glue nocks on aluminums?  How about gorilla superglue?  I have both and have misplaced by tube of duco...

moebow

Are you talking about aluminum shafts that are tapered for standard glue on nocks (like Legacies?)?  If so, just a small bead of Duco or Fletch Tite is all you need.  Hot melt would be a mess in my opinion.  Don't know about super glue but why bother?

Tapered.  Thank you for the advice.

SCATTERSHOT

I think Gorilla Glue gets brittle as it ages, and I think hot melt would be messy, but would probably work. I never used anything but Duco. Best bet is to find yours or buy another tube.

Duco works just fine. I've never used anything else. "Anything" with heat is likely to deform a plastic nock.

When I shot aluminum out of my compound I wouldn't use any glue at all. The roughness on the taper would hold it with a little push and twist. If the nock was cracked it wouldn't stay on the arrow. prevented dry fires from damaged nocks

Never used any glue but Fletch Tite until it went south. Now only use Saunders NPV glue. Ducco never was an option except for woods. Super glue gets brittle like said. Can't see how hot melt would be an option. Your supposed to heat up both objects you want to stick together. Heat melts plastic nocks.

Gooserbat

I twist them on. Never use glue. I have never had a single problem doing so.

I use Loctite Ultra gel for nocks and feathers. For many years I used Duco.

Magilla

Like some others I never glued them on, never had a problem

Cut those dang tapered ends off and get some inserts for push in Easton Super nocks.    :bigsmyl:

I only used glue ons if it was a 2-fletch arrow myself. I like rotating my cock feather so all my feathers wear even. get more use out of my arrows that way. I use all the same color feathers also.

I tried hot melt but never had much luck.  Gorilla super glue, duco and fletchtite have all worked well for me.  I really think about any super glue type product would be fine.

I have many dozen swaged aluminums in my sizes and snap then up whenever I get a chance, I love 'em!  All I shoot are aluminum, and I fletch them all up myself... when I put on nocks I do exactly as Moebow said.  A little strip of Fletch-tite, a twist on, and I'm ready to go.
