Fall Stalker vs. Camo Hunter: Differences?

Hi Gang,

I'm in the market for a new set of heavy aluminum shafts. Shot 2018 Camohunters this past season and they worked well, but this year i'm hoping to increase my overall arrow weight as much as possible. Saw the 2219's in both camohunter and fall stalker. 2219 is 13.8 gpi while 2018 is 12.3 gpi. Fall stalker is significantly cheaper than camohunter. I spoke to the folks at Easton and they advised that the only difference is that the fall stalker nocks are glued on while the modern camohunters have the press in nocks. Is that really the only difference? Seems like i'm getting a lot more arrow for my money with the fall stalker as opposed to the camo hunters if they are both machined the same way. Also, the Easton arrow chart has 2219 listed as 11/32 diameter but I've heard the fall stalkers are actually 22/64. My camohunter 2018's are 5/16. Does anyone for sure know what the fall stalker shaft diameter is? Any info on the above would be appreciated.

The fall stalkers are a softer aluminum and bend MUCH easier...been that route. I'd stick with the camo hunters. I'd still shoot the camo hunters if they had glue on nocks, I hate those uni bushing nocks!

2219 are 11/32...takes a strong bow or a ton of weight up front if you want to shoot them.

2219 is a pretty significant jump up in spine from 2018. How much weight are you trying to add?

As much as possible. My setup is a bit over 500. I'd like to get over 600. I figure I'll lose some flatness in trajectory and speed but when I connect I'm going through bone and any small twig that I might not have seen from my angle. I've heard about the stalkers bending . Why is that?

Softer alloy, not near as strong.

2117 or 2216, or 2020 would get you there.

Ive shot a bunch of both the Fall Stalkers and the Camo Hunters. The FS's are indeed a softer alloy, something like 7075 alloy while the Camo Hunters are like 7075 T9 alloy, which is supposedly a stronger aluminum alloy. I do know that the FS's I have (and had) sure seem to bend a lot easier than the CH's. I'll gladly pay more for the CH's over the FS's (plus I really like the uni-bushing system).

2020's would be the one, if you can find some. only a little stiffer than a 2018 but a lot heavier. They quit making them about a year ago.

How much heavier are the 2020's? Definitely hard to find!

2117 and 2216 are both 12.0 gpi. 2018's are 12.3 gpi so they are heavier. The heaviest Easton makes is 13.8 2219 unless you want fmj dangerous game but they are too expensive for me. 2219 is the heaviest out there. When I spoke to the Easton rep he said there was no distinction in the integrity of the stalker vs camp hunters. I wonder why he said that? A lot of consensus on the weakness of the stalker shaft.

Have you tried putting some weight inside the shafts. I adds weight but still use the same shafts. Of course, as with any change you will have to retune. If 2018 shoot well out of your bow I would use them in a minute. In my opinion, flying straight trumps heavier arrows that may not be flying straight.

What weight bow are you shooting and what is your draw .... i used to shoot 2018's out of 55# bows and my draw is 28, I would go to 2020's if you are shooting more draw weight and hunting bigger game but don't give up accuracy .

Sharp BH's are way more important than a heavy arrow when they are shot out of a well tuned bow.

What are you hunting ?? You can kill, and I have, most anything in North America with a 2018 and a 55# bow @28"

Do not worry about a shaft that is .03 gpi than another, you are splitting blond hair thinking about that ...

If you are shooting a bow that is 50#'s or more and a shaft that is 10 gp# you can kill anything in NJ or any where in North America

I understand that the 2018 is heavier per inch then a 2117 ir 2216, but they both will require a lot more point weight/length to spine the same as a 2018. I shoot 29" 2117 with a glue in/on broadhead adapter and 200 grain points. Gives me a hunting arrow of about 640 grains.
