V-Archer

Hi all,

I'm new to this forum and I would like to introduce myself.
My name is Arnold and live in the east part of the Netherlands close to the German border. Some time ago I got interested in traditional archery, moreover because a trend became apparent that many archers were switching from target archery into traditional archery. Traditional archery becomes more and more popular here. A proof of this is, that when a field- or 3d-animal shoot is organized, then within no time 200 to 300 shooters will attend.
Being also chairman of a local archery club (Sagitta et Arcus) I started to promote traditional archery in our region as well as countrywide.
To gain information, I browsed the Internet to visit forums about traditional archery and came across forums like this and I thought why not join. For the record: I do not hunt with bow and arrow, as this is illegal in my country but I do not oppose it.

Since a year or two I started building Reflex/Deflex bows and arrows under my own brand name: V-Archery. The "V" stands for the first letter of Vriezenveen that is the village where I live.
Another part of this addictive hobby is to clean, repair and refurbish "older" bows that I buy from the Internet. Some Bean Pearson Mustangs, Pinto's and a Bear Kodiaks were given a new life and owner; 14 bows so far and more to come.
I sell my bows and, if required, with accessories to people who are also interested in traditional archery. I have sold one of my homemade custom R/D bows to a friend who lives in the US that he will take out for hunting.

In August 2005 I bought a Great Plains "Palo Duro" one-piece B-type recurve bow (48# @ 28") and shoot with 2016 Legacy's. I had the opportunity, during a business trip in the USA, to visit Bill Forman of Great plains in September of that year. For me this visit was a highlight. We shared information about bow building and other topics related to traditional archery.

Thanks for letting me be one of your forum members and I hope to gain and share information about anything related to traditional archery.

Hi Guys,

Thanks for the warm welcome. I enjoy it already.
I do not have that many pictures of the 3-d shoots yet. I'm mostly shooting the bow (of course) but I'll post some pictures that my shooting buddy took from me during a 3-d shoot.

A Dutch website that gives lots of information about trad archery, field and 3-d shoots is:  http://www.fieldarcher.org.  This site is in Dutch, English and French and shows what is going on in my and other European countries.
