Anybody try making new limbs and fitting them to an old Bear Minuteman riser?  I have a bunch of short pieces of material, and want to make a takedown.  This seems like a good way to get into that effort.  Just wondered if anybody had tried it.

And if anybody knows where I might find an old minuteman riser?  Anybody got one they might be interested in trading / selling?

Actually, after I posted this, I found 3 other possible risers on 3 Rivers - all in their youth bows section.  They list the Cartel, Polaris, and Mohegan youth bows, and I'm wondering why those risers wouldn't work for experimenting with take-down limb building.  Anybody tried any of them?  Experiences?

PM sent. I have thought of doing this with Quinn limbs, but can't find any cheap enough to play with. I thought of cutting the limbs off of an older bow, too.

I don't think any are doing it now, but several years ago there was a custom bowyer or two who would make limbs for the 76er/Minuteman risers. From all reports, they were superb bows.
