Never had a chance to read Mr Ferguson's book. For those of you that have what did you think?

rbbhunt

I enjoyed it, you'll learn something from it.

It's a good read. I learned a lot about shooting a longbow. He is an interesting man too. He's also a member of this forum.

I have his book and both of Fred Asbells books. They are all full of good information. I've gone over them many times and they're well worth the time and money.

Get your hands on this book and read it! A must for any library. It's full of very usefull information. I borrowed it from a friend and is at the top of my list to buy for future reference....Terry

I use his method of visualizing the flight of the arrow. It helps to shoot over or under stuff.

The only thing I cant get use to is the way he tells you to grip your bow. I can't shoot the way he does it.

Send me a PM with your adress and i'll ship it to you....when your done you can send it back...or maybe someone else would like to read it next????? Everyone i've met on this forum has been very  helpfull to me....i'd love to share something myself.....Let me know Benha...Kirk

I used Mr. Ferguson's book to learn to shoot.  Lots of good advice and even now it is good to go back and look at it.  He starts you off with gap shooting then you begin to progress to flight of the arrow and finally you will arrive at just looking at something and the arrow will go there.

Learnt a bunch, good reading

Benha

kirkll thanks for the offer! You have a pm.

Patience

It's a good read full of info. But like everything else, it is only part of the puzzle. He shows one style of shooting. Nothing wrong with that, but it might not fit all. Gather as much info as you can and find out what works best for you.

Jimbob

I think that it is a good book. It really improved my shooting. I am self taught and was doing a few things wrong, and this book set me strait about a few things. Fred Asbells articles in Traditional Bowhunter magazine have really helped me fine tune my form also.

Byron goes by Byron Ferguson on this forum, no tricky handle. Both his and Asbell's books are good. Everyone can learn something from them, but you have to do what works for you. I like the low wrist hold that Ferguson uses. Asbell uses a high wrist, and it works for him.
