I've got a 64" Black Widow PL, 44lb at 28" coming. I draw 28". I was looking for some recommendations as to what broadhead and arrow to go with, and to see what others are using on similar set-ups . I fully know how to tune a bow and the necessity of doing so.

Hi Phillip! I would think a .500 spine carbon shaft would be the place to start. I am shooting real close to what your new PL is and I shoot a 29" .500 carbon, standard aluminum insert and a 250 gr. point. That gives me 512 grains if I remember correctly. I tinkered with the FOC on this arrow and used a 50 grain brass insert in place of the standard and still got good bare shaft flight. I shoot 3, 4" parabolic feathers and the shafts I use are Beman ICS Bowhunters. I have switched back and forth between the 250 grain VPA 3 blades and the Cutthroat single bevel and have killed deer with both heads. Good luck with the new Widow and post a some pics of it when you get it. Mike

Phillip, I agree with Mike that .500 spine is what I would start with.  I also think you would stay with it.  As far as a broadhead goes, I would suggest you try a Magnus Stinger.  I shoot the 150 grain head and really like the flight characteristics of it.
