Well, I finally finished this 48" kid's bow.  I have only made 5 bows in my "career," all kid's bows all given away except one for my daughter.  I owe a lot of tradgangers a shout out of "Thanks!" on this project.

To Mickey Lotz...thanks for all the lessons at MOJAM and all the info shared via email and the time with "Little One" that infected me with this self bow virus.

To Mike Yancey for donating the awesome skins for this special little project.

To Dano Grens for the hands-on tutorial on applying the skins at this summer's MOJAM.

To John Scifres for a cool web site with lots of great kid bow pics and dimensions.

To "Ghost Dog" Moon for helping me learn so much about longbows several moons ago.

I did lots well on this bow and lots not so well, but she is a little spitfire of a shooter, and Ryan loves it.  She is 7/8" wide at the handle, 1 1/4" at fades, and 1/2" at tips.  I overbuilt her a bit so Ryan would not have to worry about breaking her.  The bow had a neat swirl/propeller/dogleg bend in the upper limb and about 1/2" of natural deflex.  I did not heat straighten any of it, but just built what the wood gave me.  The bow settled in with about 1 1/4" of follow at rest...not bad for me!

Can't wait to get started on another!

yep, mickey, i have learned more in 4 days at mojam than the other 2 years combined regarding traditional archery...the rare, unnoticed thing in that picture you posted was that i had goosebumps on my legs from the weather!  remember how cool and overcast it was this year?  how often does THAT happen at mojam in july??
