Terry, this may be off subject enough, you will want to take it off.  I was squirrel hunting yesterday and found this arrowhead and it made me think of this subject.  There must be a reason the Indians used such small broadheads.

Gordon, not sure why you think your post would me removed, that's about as Trad as it gets Sir!

Also, that looks to be a bird point. Nice find!!!

Read an article once about a museum that had some bird points with blood still on them. They had it analyzed and it turned out to be deer blood. They may not leave the hole Simmons heads do, but they appear to have gotten the same results...dinner!

Warchild

Single bevel Abowyer, broke his shoulder blade. Split it about 6" and took out both lungs. He still made it around 60 yards. Tough young buck. Head did a great job coming out of a 55# Stalker recurve. 17 or so yard shot.

190 grain ribtek on a large whitetail doe.

I don't think I remember another Howard Hill head on here so.....62# Hill Longbow shot through both front shoulders (no bones but lots of meat).  Dressed 120 pounds, 38 steps shot from tree.  Vintage POC arrows with File sharpened and serrated Hill heads.
