The statewide season starts tomorrow in Pennsylvania.  My broadheads are sharpened. There's a new string on my bow.  I'm ready to hit the woods. Wishing you all a great hunt.  Stay safe out there.   :campfire:

Good luck to all of my fellow PA bow hunters this season!

May your blood trails be short and all your hunts be safe.
Prayer changes things.

If you're gonna be dumb, you gotta be tough.

Good luck. Post pics! There is nothing like that first approach of the downed animal photo. That is better than a posed hero pic. Seeing the different terrains of PA where deer are killed is pretty cool.
Around here we might need some luck. Most of our local deer disappeared just before shedding velvet. And they are still gone. So I might head up to the camp a couple times to hunt public land in the early season.
Our home property is a farm in transformation. We don't have a lot of oak timber. So if the deer are off in the oaks, I don't know where. Local roads have a lot of acorns on them.
We have corn fields. And a lot of brush we let grow, food plots and numerous tree plantings. Everything suffered in the drought. So things aren't as thick as usual. It looks like the chicory plots are going to take-off with the recent rain.
We decided not to go out this morning. But we will be out this evening.
The deer disappearing is common for the 4-5 yrs we have owned the property but not this severe. Though last year must have been an exception as the deer stayed and became patternable right into the beginning of bow season. We were up to are armpits in deer right off the bat. Hopefully that will become the norm in the future as things grow.
