Sunday morning the birds were singing loud behind my house. There is a big hay field near the east border of my property that they love to do turkey things in. Unfortunately, I don't have permission to hunt there but I can window shop. I took a peek around 8:30 that morning and spotted these 4 toms just hanging out. They were 150 yards away and then, for some reason, they started running right towards me. I videoed them until they got within 20 yards where they stopped and started getting spooky. It sure got my heartrate up!

They certainly acted like  they had seen a hen. What a shame you can't hunt that spot, should ask, sometimes people will let trad guy hunt because they have a different attitude than a gun hunter.... Thank you for the excellent post.

Frank, I've asked the owner for permission 2 or 3 times but I always get the "We're worried about liability" line. It's a shame because it's some prime hunting ground going to waste. Once in a great while I can call a bird out of that field and over to my place but it's a fer piece in turkey steps. On the bright side, I do have trespass permission in case I stick a deer and it gets over on him. You take your victories where you can.
