What type of resin do folks use for saturating the fiberglass cloth strips in when doing a takedown sleeve?

i am guessing the bondo is a polyester resin, similar to what they may use in the body filler applications
epoxy will always give a better bond with wood than poly.
and wont really be that much more expensive, availability may be the key.
you can try any of the wooden boat building supplies, they have lots of proven wood  friendly epoxies in laminating viscosity.
i like west systems, personally!
but many others too.

I would stick with the proven stuff here and not be experimenting. Hate get to full draw and gat a bow limb in the head.

I used bp do on the first one to get my feet wet(which I did with the resin) and it was ok but the second one didn't bond great and cracked around top of grip .

I know a guy who uses ea40 which I'm gonna try on the one that cracked when I have time to grind the other stuff off .

Oh and the bondo stinks the shop up so bad you can't stay in there

Bondo seems like it has a lot of shrinkage.

I meant the resin from them for the glass cloth , I don't think the body filler would work?

It may not have even been that brand!

Didn't know they made epoxy stuff.  Something new every day on the Bench.  :)
