Just a heads up for anyone that is going to be hunting in South Carolina this year. I imagine other states are going to be following this path, as well.

I talked to a friend that works at the DNR here in SC, and he said this is going to be high on the Game Wardens list of things to check.

I'm very surprised they have not yet passed a similar law here in TX.

Yeah I just got my official email notification of the new changes this morning...

I lot of states should have done this a long time ago....and shut down deer farms (most have banned transport/trafficking but it still happens). Radically increasing penalties around violations should have been done too.

We've had that regulation here in Ontario for a while now.

Sounds like a good idea. I've never used a deer lure I suspected of working. Does anyone a synthetic one they recommend?

I was just telling some friends about this the other day!

I know Arkansas did this a few years back and was told that Georgia is doing the same this year as well but haven't confirmed that yet.

Doesn't bother me much.. I have never been a big user scents, especially store bought. I will cut the tarsal glands off of a doe in heat or even a rutting buck from time to time and use as a drag.

I'm not sure how much these scents would do in terms of transferring CWD, but I certainly don't want it here! I also think this is going to be a bit difficult to regulate as well..

I think CWD is a hot topic that is more hype than substance however . . . Most of those scents are made in the types of environments that CWD is more prevalent so . . . Makes sense.
