Any body ever had strings that fray from touching (slapping) the limb ? I just got a new bow shooting and was starting with low brace heights & frayed the 10 strand FF plus tiller string it frayed not at the knocks but about 4" down from them so I remade a 12 strand string & ended up the same issue , there is nothing sharp or ruff or any thing like that I have had other bows that slapped the limbs but never frayed ? I will start higher next but just thought it was strange ?
If you fear failure, you will never try ! But never except it!!

If the bow is smooth it shouldn't fray the string. Rub a cotton ball across the area and see if there might not be an unseen problem. Have you waxed the string well, while making and afterwards?

Thanks Pat I checked it out & all is smooth I think I figured it out I'm thinking I had the same problem but I think there unrelated I noticed Bronells sent me the wrong string I ordered FF plus & the sent Fury so I inadvertently mix FF plus & Fury this bow has pretty substantial early draw weight & reflex maybe over stretched the Fury those are the strands that frayed I'm guessing ,but the tiller string was pretty used  so maybe not related will see to darn hot to keep working in the shop !
