I found out yesterday that Colene Simmons has passed away. Many of you probably knew Colene from many archery shoots in the Eastern and Southeastern US. Colene was a rough looking woman but she had a heart of gold. One of the most generous people I ever met. She was an excellent archer, owned a shoe repair shop in Tennessee, was a Marine fighter pilot and later an airline pilot until epilepsy ended her career.
If you knew Colene you laughed hard every time you saw her. She was funny, talented and as sweet and generous a person you've ever met. I only get to see Colene once or twice a year and will sadly miss her, her rough demeanor, her generosity and her rye, off color wit.
RIP my friend. Until we meet again.

Sounds like she lived a full life and gave as good as she got!  I didn't ever meet or know the person, but I'm sure I'd have benefited from doing so...

Indeed, RIP, me lady...
The words "Child" and "terminal illness" should never share the same sentence! Those who care-do, others question!

I also didn't know her but from what I have read on another site she gave much and I pray for those that did know her for peace and comfort as they reflect back on her life as a giving, caring, loving lady.
