I've never made a frontal template for any of my bow designs but several are pretty much settled and it makes sense to create a template as opposed to printing and glueing it on.  It's very time consuming.

So, my question is, for those who have made templates, what material did you use?

I made one for my TD longbow limbs from phenolic. You prob need a longer piece. Formica edge strip? got a cabinet shop close?

I have some streaky glass I can sell you for that purpose if you don't find something close by.....

If you fear failure, you will never try ! But never except it!!

I generally use formica or that compressed hardboard that's painted white on one side. One sheet of formica can be bought for 30-40 bucks, can serve many purposes, and last half a lifetime.

crappy clear glass works great--you can see layout/center lines through it--i polyed the sanded side

Lexan or plexiglass.  I have access to scrap pieces from time to time.
