Fiberglass core lam

What should I expect If I were to keep my lam stack the same, but exchange a wood parallel (.030) with a fiberglass lam of the same thickness? (Fiberglass back and belly bow w/wood tapers)

Will there be a draw weight increase?
How will performance be effected?

About 10 lbs extra at a 28" draw in my experience.

fiberglass is heavy compared to typical core woods and will probably have a negative affect on performance. You might try the Stabil-core stuff being discussed on another thread right now...

When you are talking 10lbs extra, where are you locating the FG lam in the core???Are you adding a .030" lam and making the stack thicker or keeping the stack the same and getting 10 plus lbs???  Is this something you tried and are sure of or something that you are taking a guess at...  Has anyone else had experience with this???  
  This is something I also have been kicking around and thinking about doing...

I know from experience. I swapped one lam for a.030 piece of fg and said result. It was in the core. I do 4 lam bows and it was from the inner core that I swapped.

Wow... Thanks... 10# is a lot of gain for the same stack thickness...  Did you get an increase in performance or did the heavier limb cancel things out???

Guys I think putting FG in the center will also do some exotic things with regard to the working center of the bow since FG is way stronger than wood.  With everything I have read about this subject my instincts tell me it will create more problems than it solves.

Thanks for the replies.
I was just curious.  I have seen some bows with colored glass as the middle limb, Im assuming for looks.
I figured performance would go down hill with the fiberglass being heavier, but was wanting to verify from those who had tried it.
