Hi Guys
Just wondering who the best resource would be to buy strike plate and shelf rest material from?

Roy from Pa

The soft side of Velcro works good.

I prefer the calf hair rest with adhesive backing myself. Big Jim's, 3R, Kustom King, etc.
Plant a fruit or nut tree today, and have good hunting tomorrow.

Velcro-cheap and easy to find. I usually put a piece of leather for strike plate though.

Velcro is certainly cheap, but it is thicker and will change how your bow will tune. I prefer to start with a thin and consistent side plate and build out if necessary.

I just try to live my life in a way that would have made my father proud.

Take an electric razor and shave the Velcro down as flat as you want it. Works great. I use leather a bit, but I found leather CAN get sticky in the rain/snow and make my arrow chatter. When push comes to shove I'll have Velcro on my hunters. Seal skin was great.

BigJim makes a good point about the thickness. I do find however that the Velcro is quite forgiving as compared to a harder strike plate. So yes it's thicker, but you do get a little something in exchange. It's also very quiet.

I often use the pads from a paint pad applicator. synthetic 'bristles' are hard wearing and I color them with permanent marker as they come in white.

I use this self adhesive leather from 3Rivers, I can get at least 10 side plates and rests out of one piece. I got tired of replacing velcro rests every 2 weeks, this leather is very thin and lasts 50 times longer than velcro...  http://www.3riversarchery.com/Adhesive+Backed+Leather+Bow+Grip+Material_i6097X_baseitem.html
