cracked bow

Well I split out my osage log. Got 5 staves so I started a plains recurve short bow. I had to tiller aroung a knot that fell out. Got it done strung and shooting. 50 lbs at 20". Crack. Got a longitudinal crack at the knot. Toss bow and quit. Well I went back to it and narrowed the limbs and will sinew it next week after a conference. I do hope I can save it. Sure was fast. 52" bow, 20" draw .
