just got my first splinter on a bbo I'm working on.

splinter is about 1/4" wide x 1.5" long.

It's on the outside edge starting about 3/16" down from a node.

The splinter separated right in the middle of the boo.
..not the glue joint.

I've super glued the splinter down and clamped.

Do I have to wrap it?
or is the super glue enough by itself?

Thanks

fwiw..

I just got done shooting 50 arrows without incident.

...am I just lucky?
...or most likely good to go?

Oh man.  i know the feeling.  i don't know, i wrapped mine when it happened, but might not be necessary.  i really am going to have a hard time trusting bamboo.

I had a splinter on a bbi once. I superglued it, then rounded the corner off really well to try and relieve some of the stress on that spot. The splinter was on the edge of the limb. I know a lot ppl wrap the splinter down wih thread also. Then coat the thread in glue to make a kind of composite.

It's not on bamboo, but I had a splinter raise on the side of an osage self bow a couple years ago.  I superglued it down and did not wrap it.  It's still shooting well to this day.  Actually, I took a nice deer with it this past fall.

One of two things will happen; it'll either work or it won't.
