Hey I'm about to start on another boo backed Ipe and I'm hoping for some input on some dimensions.

The bow will be 58" tip-to-tip and must have a full draw (28") and I'm shooting for 65#.

Any advice on how wide I should go on this?

Bend in the handle? Stiff handle?
I usually build stiff handle bows, I was thinking about a hybrid style bow with a substantial R/D.

Straight limb or R/D?

I think I'm going to go tri-lam, with either a maple, walnut, or actionboo core.

Lam thickness advice?

Anyone have experience bending IPE? How thin will I have to go? 1/4? 3/16? 1/8?

Thanks for the help guys

My first thought is, why so short?  A 65@28" draw on a 58" tip to tip (56" nock to nock) bow is asking a lot in my opinion.  Is there a specific need for a bow of those particulars?

If you're stuck on it, then I would for sure let it bend though the handle, even if just a touch.

I would also go with the actionboo core given your three options, followed by maple.
"Walk softly...and carry a bent stick."

"And whatever you do, whether in word or deed, do it all in the name of the Lord Jesus Christ, giving thanks to God the Father through him."  Col. 3:17

Theres a specific need. I could probably get away with 60# but it can't be longer than 58".

Actually 58" unstrung so in theory if it were highly deflexed recurve it could be longer than 58" ttt as long as the unstrung length is 58" or less.
