I got this with thoughts it might add weight and a lot of strength to a riser.     It's much heavier then pholnic and a lot stiffer.  Its half inch thick.  Anybody ever see it or use it?

Is that ballistic paneling?

I believe so level 3.  Was told this piece should stop a 44

To answer the question, it should behave like any other resin/fiber plate. Glass, phenolic, etc.

How much of it do you have?

What in the world would you cut it with Glenn?

God bless you, Stve

I only got the piece in the picture

Steve I was going to use a high speed cutoff wheel   Or when my buddy goes deer hunting this weekend use his bandsaw, cause I sure ain't going to use mine on it.

That looks like Kevlar,I have used it a couple times, you will absolutely smoke a bandsaw blade in the first 1/4'' inch of cutting. Try a carbide table saw blade but still will be junk when your done.

It isn't Kevlar, but it is a ballistic plate. That company makes them to go inside of walls and podiums and desks and things like that. It's actually woven fiberglass/resin.

Their site says it can be cut with a 7" diamond circular saw blade. For small openings like for electrical outlets and the like they suggest a diamond grit wheel like you cut ceramic tile with.

Level 3 plate like that is tested and can withstand rifle fire from a .308 win., as well as stopping .44 mag as mentioned above.
