If I would have stayed in the bow trade this year I could have made a bow like this one and I should have gotten one from one of the great bowyers here on TradGang.  Life dealt me a hand that took me out of the swap but now I am getting closer to back in the swing of normal life.

I had promised this bow to a high school auction fund raiser and it was very late.  At least the buyer was a father of a young man in the military and he will be getting it when he visits for Thanksgiving.    :clapper:

It's a hickory backed hickory with purpleheart and black/white phenolic accents.  50# @ 28".   As always I learned some more while making it and I think it turned out pretty well.  At least his parents liked it and they knew that I am very early in the process of learning the craft.

Nice looking bow and a nicer gift to a lucky guy.    :clapper:    :clapper:

Well the next one will start in a month just over a month.

That is a great looking bow for sure.

Look forward to seeing what you can do in the next swap.  Good looking bow.

Thanks guys.  I'm pretty sure the swap has been a big factor in making me a better bowyer.  Not just from the point of making a bow but seeing what everyone else is doing.  All the questions that get asked and answered help a guy like me that is not good at asking for help.  I hope to get into the next swap and make my next best bow.
