I got an old bow of mine back this morning (check out the "Great Morning" post in Pow Wow)
It's a rattle snake backed shrew. I'm going to guess and say it's 10-14 years old.The skin is lifting off on the top limb in two places on the edge. One spot is 5" long and about 1/4-3/8" deep into the limb, the other is maybe a 1/3 of that.
I'm looking for advice on how to fix it. Type of glue, etc. Thanks.

You might use masking tape to tape off the bow and use some tite bond III to glue the skin back down.

Or....You could take it all off get some new skins and apply them.  Here's a link on how to do it.

Thank you John,I'd just like to repair it,don't want to put on new skins right now.

I'd clean out under the skin with acetone or denatured alcohol, glue it with TBIII then wrap it. After about 1 hour remove the wrap, clean of the excess glue and let it set for a day or 2 before adding a finish over the bow.
Make the most of all that comes and the least of all that goes!

Thanks Pat. I'll look for some Tite bond III tomorrow.Lowes or Home depot maybe???

They will have it at both of them unless they are just sold out.

Thanks for the advice fellas. Got some Tite bondIII at Lowes yesterday. Cleaned it up with acetone, put in the TBIII,put plastic wrap around it then wrapped it very tight with tape. Took it off about an hour later and cleaned up the excess glue. Can't even tell where it was repaired.
