My friend had this bow graciously donated to him by LAlongbowman from here at TG around Christmas time.  He's pretty excited as this is his first bow.  It's a 70's Kodiak Mag.  He brought it over this past weekend for me to help get him set up with arrows and start shooting.  While looking it over I came across this small chip in an overlay.  My plan is to cut/sand/grind it smooth and fill it with some epoxy.  Would that be the best way or is there something else I should do?  He's not worried about cosmetics.  He's just eager to start shooting it.  Any help is appreciated.

you might find it will just sand out--hit it w/super glue first-so it doesn't lift when you sand--go easy use a sanding block--maybe start w/150g--then finer

Use some thin super glue and then sand it smooth.

I agree, use some super glue first.  I'd start with 240g.
