Is it possible to take set out of your bow without hurting the integrity of the wood, rendering the bow worthless?  I have a selfbow that's taken a couple of inches set, and I was hoping I could bring it back to straight for a little more zip.  I know I should've waited a bit longer for it to dry....learning experience.  Just want to know if I can correct it without messing the bow up....it shoots good as is.

Set and string follow are not alike. String follow is intentional while set is compressed wood fibers that you cant totally control. Once set happens, its happened. There are plenty of ways to move your limb tips forward some to offset the set. One way is a set back handle section, another is tip flipping. Keep in mind the more forward you push the tips the harder the limbs will work causing yet more set. If your stave wasnt dry you were doomed from the start.

It's alright Nathan There is plenty of yeller wood to be had. Your just getting the bug real bad and are gonna have to learn patience like I did......The hard way   :D

The best advice I can give you is shoot it like it is and start on another, After it's dry.

Hey, Kris.  You over your bronchitis yet?  I haven't tracked down any river cane yet, but I will.

Yep you can get it out, reflex your limb a couple inches on a form, toast the belly to a dark brown with a heat gun, retiller the limb when done. Done it a few times, came out pretty good, added a lot of zip to some sluggish bows.
