Hey all,

New to traditional bows.  I bought a used York and was looking it over.  On the front of both limbs, there are these really really fine horizontal lines that I can see if the light hits it just at the right angle.  They almost look like the finish wasn't flexible enough and cracked at some point.

Is there a way to fix this?  Does it need to be fixed?

Any help is appreciated ladies and gents.

Sounds like the finish cracked. Not a huge deal but could be sealed back up to keep out the moisture. A pic will help tho.

Ok - I will take a pic when I get back home.  It doesn't look deeper than the finish, so I would agree, but for safety's sake, I'll add a pic.

Might be chrysaled (sp).  Basically compression ridges.  Can happen in wood or glass but in glass there is not much of a "ridge" to it.

That's assuming that by "front" you mean face rather than the back.

Probably so.  If so, they are not chrysals, Iguess.
