Is it better to tiller the bow before shaping the riser, or do I shape the riser first?

Shaping the riser is the last thing I do.  I wouldn't want to blow the time if the bow is going to blow during the process.

agreewith jeremy plus a square handle is easier for me to tiller with thn a round one that slides around

Plus, it is easier to pick the looser limb for the top and get your positive tiller naturally, than end up light by having to reduce the top limb, because you already cut a shelf and sanded in a grip ( depending on what type you make...i typically sand in a locator grip)

What everyone else said, but I do final tweaking after shaping the grip.

I found out through experience, shape the handle last.  What these guys have said definitely holds true.
